The most definitive piece I've seen on the damage system in Forza Motorsport is a piece from 1UP.com on October 14, 2004: (link) "Three levels of car damage will punish players who let things get out of hands in the turns. On the lowest level, there will be cosmetic damage (crumpled panels, smashed glass, trailing bumpers, missing exterior bits), but it won't affect car performance. On the middle level, damage will affect some aspects of performance, but not all, and it won't be possible to completely crash out of a race. On the most unforgiving level, damage will directly affect performance, and crash-happy drivers will not survive long at all. The damage level also affects how much cash career mode players will have to shell out to fix a car in between races. " |
