- "The first few races instantly showed off the AI's peculiar
characteristics. Each AI car is different; and each one is relatively tough
and unafraid to bump or even tip you. It's not like the races were dogfights
or scrappy Burnout Road Rage mash-a-thons, but you do have to watch out for
the freakin' wily AI. At the beginning of each race, you'll see AI cars
swerve across the course to get position, they'll bump you from behind, tip
you if they get the right positioning, and they'll catch up and smoke you if
your driving is weak and worthless. Thankfully, the game offers you the
chance to retry any race, so you're not stuck with taking fourth and having
to live with it. I took three firsts and three seconds in my first six races
in the first event, earning tons of credits for each one.

- Another interesting thing about the AI drivers is that
they aren't lightly pushed off their tracks. In other words, if you finally
catch up with the Nissan 350Z that pushed ahead of you one lap earlier,
you're not likely to slam it against a wall lickety-split. Nah. They stick
to their guns like humans, and sometimes, it seems, they even push back. So,
seeking revenge on opponent cars isn't always a benefit. Pushing or even
slamming an opponent often times results in the loss of speed and placement.
Plus, you might tip yourself off the track, and if you veer too far off, the
race is pretty much over. Most races offer two to three laps, and in the
three-lap races you could theoretically make it back into the top three if
you're really good."
